Carbon Steel Flanges
Flat face flanges are usually made of carbon steel, and there is a raised face on them which has to be removed first. Then a full gasket is required to make them fit into the gap caused by the raised face. They are mostly used as inside diameters, bolt circles and bolts for weld neck for special purposes. It is no secret that carbon steel is steel alloyed with carbon and the presence of carbon content only increase its hardness.
